Elevate AI starts with a conversation. This guide takes you from the Android beta invitation to opening the app and setting up notifications.
About this beta
This is the new Elevate AI app for Android. It appears on your phone as Elevate AI Preview and uses our staging (test) service. You can create your account directly in the app. Accounts for this beta are separate from production accounts. Your test activity is separate from production. The Android beta is still being developed, so some features may differ from the iPhone version.
Before you start
Have a phone running Android 9 or later, an internet connection and access to your email ready. You will need a Google account to accept Firebase's testing invitation. You do not need an existing Elevate account: after installing, choose Sign up in the app to create one. Joining Firebase and creating your Elevate account are separate steps.
Join the Android beta
Scan the Install Elevate AI QR code displayed at the conference with your Android phone's camera, then open the Firebase invitation page.
Enter your email address and tap Sign up. Look for the Firebase App Distribution invitation in your inbox, then follow it to accept the invitation with your Google account.
If Firebase offers its App Tester app, you can install it to keep your beta apps and updates together. Use the Google account you used to accept the invitation.
Download and install Elevate AI
In Firebase, choose Elevate AI Staging Preview, open the latest available build and tap Download. Open the downloaded installer, then tap Install.
Because this beta is distributed through Firebase rather than Google Play, Android may ask you to allow installation from the app opening the installer:
- Tap Settings on the installation prompt.
- Enable Allow from this source for the app named on that screen, such as Chrome or App Tester.
- Return to the installer and tap Install, then Open.
You can turn that permission off again afterwards. Only enable it for the source you are using to install this beta.
Create your Elevate account in the app
New to Elevate? You can sign up yourself in Elevate AI Preview. You do not need the team to create an account for you.
- Open Elevate AI Preview and tap Sign up.
- Enter your First name, Last name and Email. Use an email address you can check now.
- Create a password with at least eight characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, a number and a symbol. Enter it again in Confirm password.
- Enter your date of birth, confirm you are 18 years of age or older, and tap Create account.
- Check your email for the six-digit verification code. Return to the app, enter the code and tap Verify email. If it does not arrive, check spam or junk, then use Resend code when available.
- Read and accept the user agreement, then complete About you with your profile details.
- Choose at least one goal and tap Build my plan to continue.
Already have an account for this beta? Choose Sign in and enter that account's email address and password. Existing accounts may go straight to the conversation.
Set up notifications
Tap your profile picture or initials at the top right of the chat to open Me, then find Notifications. Tap Enable notifications, or Open notification settings if that is shown. Allow Android's permission prompt if it appears.
Check that the page says Enabled on this device. This confirms the device notification setting; it is not a test notification. If notifications remain blocked, use your phone's app notification settings for Elevate AI Preview and return to the app.
Start your first conversation
Return to the chat and try a simple request, such as βHelp me plan tomorrow's breakfast.β Read the response at your own pace and scroll when you are ready.
Use Me to review your profile, goals and preferences. You can explore Help and Learn for guidance inside the app.
Keeping the beta up to date
When a new build is available to your tester group, open Firebase App Tester or return through your Firebase invitation and install the latest version of Elevate AI Staging Preview. Use the same Google account that accepted the invitation.
If you already have Elevate AI Preview, install the update over it. You should not need to uninstall the app. If Android refuses the update, contact the team before deleting your existing installation.
If something does not work
I cannot find the Firebase invitation
Check spam or junk and search for Firebase App Distribution. Make sure you entered the intended email address when joining. If the app is missing from App Tester, check which Google account is selected.
Android will not install the app
Search your phone's settings for Install unknown apps and allow the specific source opening the installer. Menu names vary between Android and Samsung versions. If a device policy blocks installation or the setting is greyed out, ask your device administrator or use a personal phone. If a separate security warning persists, contact the Elevate team with the exact wording.
My usual Elevate password does not work
This beta uses a separate test service, so an account from the production app may not work here. If you have not created an account in this beta, choose Sign up and follow step 3 above. If you already created a beta account, use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen to reset its password. If sign-up says your email is already registered, return to Sign in and use Forgot password? rather than creating another account.
I have installed the wrong Elevate app
Look for Elevate AI Preview on your phone and Elevate AI Staging Preview in Firebase. The conference install QR code is for the new Elevate AI Android beta; an older Elevate Health invitation installs a separate app.
Get help or share feedback
Email the Elevate team and include your phone model, Android version, the beta build shown in Firebase and what you were trying to do. A screenshot of the error can help; leave out passwords, verification codes and private conversation or health details.
